Paphos Bucket List: 5+1 of the Best Things to Include in Your Trip

Paphos is a truly beautiful destination that’s steeped in history. Whether you want the thrills of a water park, a trip back in time at a heritage site or simply to relax and unwind at one of the many beaches, Paphos in western Cyprus has it all.

When you visit any new place, it’s a great idea to find out some of the things you can see and do when you are there, before you even set off. This will save you time researching while you’re supposed to be enjoying your vacation, and it will also ensure that you don’t miss anything you really would love to see or do. Here are some suggestions for some fun and interesting things to do in Paphos.

1. Visit the Kato Paphos Archaeology Park

If you have an interest in history and archaeology, then a visit to the Kato Paphos Archaeology Park is a must. From prehistoric structures, to the four Roman villas, it’s a stunning site. There’s even a small arena that is so well preserved it is still used for performances to this date. Add to this the Tomb of the Kings, an ancient underground burial complex and you can easily spend a whole day here.

2. St Paul’s Pillar

This is a site of massive historic and religious significance. This pillar is the actual pillar to which St Paul was tied and lashed for trying to convert the ruler of Paphos to Christianity back in 45AD. There are also some beautiful mosaics at the site.

3. The Paphos Medieval Castle

Step into the cool and calm of the castle at the harbour and escape the midday sun. Learn more about the interesting history of this structure and take in those stunning sea views. 4. Spend time at the beach

With so many great sights to see, it can be hard on your feet, and you can literally spend hours walking. A great alternative, to take the strain off, is to take a segway tour.
